MGSSBF Hosts 9th Annual Sustainability Issues Legislative Forum
Michigan’s Great Southwest Sustainable Business Forum will meet for the 9th Annual Sustainability Issues Legislative Forum on Friday, April 19 from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm at Wightman in Benton Harbor.
This year’s keynote speaker is David Konkle, current president of the Great Lakes Renewable Energy Association and one of the state’s leading experts on clean energy development. Konkle served as the Ann Arbor Energy Coordinator for 20 years, leading local efforts to increase energy efficiency and utilize renewable energy. He has worked with the Michigan Community Energy Management grant program for the past four years providing energy services for local governments and schools. His recent projects include installing 22 public electric car charging stations in downtown Ann Arbor and writing the Michigan Community Solar Guidebook.
Other speakers include City of St. Joseph Mayor Mike Garey, Berrien County State Rep. Pauline Wendzel, and Peter Ross Dickow, West Michigan Region Director for U.S. Senator Gary Peters, who will each share how their offices are forwarding sustainability in Michigan’s Great Southwest.
The luncheon costs $15 for members if registered online ($20 at event), $20 for future members if registered online ($25 at event). All are welcome.
