June Review: Annual Meeting & Clean Energy Panel

The Annual Meeting at the B.O.B. featured a forum on clean energy challenges and success stories highlighting insights on four signature projects involving WMSBF member organizations.

Below are excerpts from the forum panels discussion:
John DeAngelis, Energy Program Manager, Steelcase
– “Protecting the environment is a number one priority, renewable energy is just one more piece of the puzzle.”
Haris Alibasic, Director, City of Grand Rapids Office of Energy and Sustainability
– “The idea is to look at the business; it has to pay back towards the city.”
Brad Lila, Director of Project Development, Apex Clean Energy
– “The advancement of technology has lowers the price of renewable energy substantially; we now have the ability to potentially offset electricity prices.”
Keith Troyer, Consumers Energy
– “The Solar Gardens are a shining light for us in terms of community involvement.”
The Annual Meeting also introduced newly elected Board President Allison Sutter, as well as 2016-2017 board of director members, and also honored the 2016 President’s Award winner Rick Van Dellen of Amway.
